Dacia announced that the Sandero will finally get a hybrid version for the 2026 model year.

For next year, both the Sandero and the Stepway will receive a design update, which seems to follow the changes made to the Logan sedan and the Jogger wagon. All models will get redesigned headlights and an updated grille, designed to give the illusion of being a single piece.

Still on the exterior, redesigned alloy wheels and new hubcaps will be available for the cheaper versions, which run on steel wheels. A shark-fin antenna is now standard, and depending on the model, Dacia introduces two new colors: Amber Yellow and Sandstone.

Even while remaining an affordable car for the European market, Dacia did not skimp on features. For 2026, the lineup will gain a larger 10-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Sandero, Stepway, Jogger, and Logan will also receive an induction charging base, automatic headlights, a multi-view camera, and electric side mirrors, although most of these features are purchased separately.

Under the hood, the most significant updates come to the Sandero Stepway and the Jogger. Dacia equipped a hybrid powertrain that combines a naturally aspirated 1.8-liter gasoline engine with two electric motors, a 1.4 kWh battery, and an automatic transmission with four gears for the combustion engine and two for the electric motor. This setup produces a combined output of 155 hp and 170 Nm of torque.

All four models can be equipped with a turbocharged three-cylinder 1.2-liter engine, which also runs on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). It produces 120 hp, sent to the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Depending on the model, turbo gasoline engines with 100 or 110 hp are also available, each paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The base engine remains a naturally aspirated three-cylinder producing 65 hp, paired with a five-speed manual transmission.

Dacia has not yet released pricing details for the updated cars, but according to the website Autocar, they are expected to be priced similarly to today: around US$ 21,000 for the Sandero and US$ 26,000 for the Jogger.
